Whats the minimum size of speakers, amplified mixer, etc to use?
If Im getting a system for outdoor but especially indoor functions on a maximum 200meter area to setup, Are four speakers each having an RMS 80wats, 5x15 inch horn, 12 inch speaker, 600 wat amplified mixer adequete enough? whats the minimum acceptible size to still produce quality sound?
well KC you are in the wrong section (car audio) but i used to be a dj so i will try to help you out...
when i dj'd i had 2 15" 3 way speakers and 600Watts RMS going to them.... now. in a reception hall of 500 i had no problem, a back yard party for 50 .... a problem... why because i was using all the power i could, and the base seemed weak and the highes had major "hot spots" going with four speakers is a great idea to help eliminate hot spots, playing outdoors requires a ton of power, however, backyard parties often did not have the power i needed either, couple times i blew a breaker... i started to rent generators to take some of the load off..(powering lights and such as well)
My best advice is to get high quantity of speakers for mid to highs, maybe even little 8" pods through out the area...(if its permanent) and then seperate subs... power it as much as you can afford... being outdoors really requires it...
Also 4 speakers @ 80 watts only gives you 320 watts handling, yet you speak of a 600 watt amp? thats a formula for blowing speakers...
You could also look into powered monitors, often they can daisychain the signal....to keep adding as you require more, also many areas have pro stage sound equipment available for renting that can be very high quality at a reasonable price, this can get you past a occasion need, without a huge investment.
