What sound recording solution you recommend?
My church has a PA system, and every Sunday we record the sermon and worship in two audio tapes, then copy and sell to whoever wants it after the service (with just the cost of tape, of course). Hardware involved: a tape drive and a tape duplicator. Now we want to move to digital recording. The idea is to burn audio CDs (rapid duplication is a plus) and after mp3 files on the website, but MP3 Audio CDs and tapes are also desired. No Internet connection in the church hall. I imagine several solutions in one or more of these elements: - A computer with a good sound card and one or more CD burners - a hardware CD recording (perhaps with the tape as well) - a CD duplicator hardware - A MP3 Player / Recorder What solution would you recommend that: - not hard - it requires no more than basic skills - Can produce audio CDs quickly - preferably, can produce MP3 CDs - makes it easy to divide the worship and the sermon of the parties
There are many packages that make computer recording easy. The most basic is on any Mac Garageband GarageBand comes free on every Mac So you want an interface for connecting line channels on the computer. You could also invest in a program called Sound Soap to collect and remove any constant backround noise. On a PC too There are several packets of easy to register with. I've tried one called N-track. Converting to mp3 is easy once you have the original material in AIFF or WAV format. Download some demos software and test them. I would wager that someone in your church uses a Mac too. to bring it in and check it out. Good luck
