"I can connect to 5.1 surround sound speakers for PC to the TV?

I was wondering if I could connect the speakers to the headphone jack on my TV and get decent results ... The speakers PC Line PCL-51 001 5.1 speakers. I do not want to pay a lot for a high quality television surround sound system. Thank you.

No, each surround speaker in a surround sound system (or PC) has a separate cable for each speaker if true 5.1 (if it was a PC surround sound would have a number 3.5 mm in different colors. That's not to say the sound is not all of them. A standard headphone jack on a TV is only audio left and right audio however. Also, something to remember is 5.1, does not necessarily mean that it is surround sound. Many of the cheap unbranded surround sound you get from places like Argos or Amazon have five speakers and a sub, but not Dolby surround sound decoder built in. I hope this helps, Dan
