Converting optical sound lead to 9 pin DIN?

I have a surround sound amplifier with a 9-pin DIN power - and then 5 separate outputs for each speaker - Is there anyway i can convert my optical output of my Blu Ray player, etc - who want to avoid having to spend much money on an amplifier surround sound - no way exhaust the possibility, if I can - I know you can buy lead-optical converters on Ebay, but not sure if only allow the output stereo sound, as

Not knowing what amp you have, I can only assume that the connection is an analog of discrete surround sound, in which case you need a surround sound decoder, and a cable to connect to your amp.
