How do I make my current stereo receiver wireless?
I have an old Denon system for my tv/dvd audio. Works great. I'd like to put more speakers around the room for it but it would cost too much to run speaker wires under the house. Anyone know any kind of wireless way of adding speakers? Thanks!
Any product names? Wanted to buy cheaper off eBay.
Your situation is a common one. Wireless is certainly possible, but to date quality suffers somewhat relative to wires. A good wireless transmitter and receiver setup, with the necessary frequency response and amplification (necessary since you can't transmit the power from the main amp .. just the signal ... and need an amp in the speaker) isn't cheap. See the link for a good overview and links to some options.
One device available on eBay is at the second link (but note the "small print" limitation to "active" speakers (i.e. built in amp!). A third link is to a product available "soon".
If you are serious you will need to think in terms of new wireless speakers (including amplification) rather than trying to use your existing passive speakers.
Hope this helps.
