iPod speaker / clock radio?
ok so im looking for a speaker system that has everything you want a better Decent PEAKERS system and as to the characteristics I want to have a CD player, radio, iPod docking stations and more importaantly obviously an alarm clock and I want to be able to use the clock as a I do not want to watch that sounds when the unit is on stand by can anyone recommend a specific product that suits all my needs? please and thank you!
The iH5 is surprisingly small given its wide functionality: At 10 "wide x 6" deep x 3 "tall, not much larger than many radios standard clock. The front includes a 3.5 "by 1" backlit LCD (described in detail below) and the left and right speakers. Each controller speaker is about 2 "in diameter and seated in a ported enclosure that extends to the rear of the iH5. The top of the iH5 is where the action is. In addition to almost all system control buttons (more on that later), you'll find the slot iH5 iPod dock. As the slot Spring in other speaker systems, this provides a high quality line level audio signal from the dock connector of your iPod to speakers, the iH5 returns Please reload the iPod while docked. (For non-iPod dock like older models and the iPod shuffle, connect the iPod to the back of the mounting iH5 line-in jack via an included mini to mini cable.) The system includes four plastic and rubber slot dock adapters to accommodate different sized iPod: A "iPod thick "adapter for all models in 40GB and 60GB, 30GB, and 3rd generation iPods, a" slim iPod "dock insert for iPod 20 GB or less, and the color and the 30GB iPod photo, a "mini" insert for iPod mini, and a "rest shuffle", which has an iPod shuffle. (The latter, of course, is not charged while seated in the iH5 and be connected via the aforementioned cable to play through the speakers iH5.) Unlike other "Link" iPod speakers, the iH5 not connected to your computer, so it lets you sync your iPod with iTunes, however, given an alarm clock can be used as a bedside table or a kitchen counter as by a computer-maybe more-I do not consider that to be a major drawback. Without the remote option (discussed below), the iH5 provides only a single game Pause button located on the main button area to control your iPod, in order to skip tracks or navigate the iPod menus, you must use your iPod's own controls. On each side of your connected iPod is a big dial on the left controls system volume, while the right (called the "Set" line) is used to make the changes, the choice of radio station setting time, setting the alarm, and so on. Although I like the look of these indicators, and their effects are quite clever, everyone has the same major flaw: they are made of soft plastic and sunk into the top of the iH5, can be difficult to rotate. Each needs a small slit as found in the drivers scroll wheel, to give a better grip. Finally, the rear of the iH5 includes some other features. An output minijack line can hear the audio from the iH5 through a set of speakers or stereo. A minijack line input lets you listen to another source such as a iPod shuffle through the iH5. (Unfortunately, this feature only works if you first remove your iPod from the dock of the iH5's.) There is an antenna FM captive wire connector for the included AM antenna, and buttons to adjust the configuration of different clock. The iH5 sound quality is quite good, much better than I expected. In fact, compared to a couple of our favorite handheld systems, the Altec Lansing iM3 ($ 180) and his brother iM4 inMotion iPod ($ 100), the iH5 is slightly less sharp detail, but also less "metal", has a better bass and overall sound has a slightly richer. (For be clear, there is no real low here, but the system ported enclosures relatively important to help low-decent speakers produce upper and lower midrange. These characteristics give an impression of full-range sound not found in most speaker systems of this size.) The iH5 also capable of playing much more stronger than the Altec Lansing systems without distortion. In general, I found the iH5 to be an enjoyable listen, even for prolonged periods, it is not something that is true of many $ 100 speaker systems. (The audio iH5 failure more evident is the lack of stereo separation you would expect from a speaker system only 6 inches apart.) It is also useful to put the iH5 audio performance in the context of desktop radios and speaker systems. The quality iH5 sound is not as good as the best time in the radio market (such as Boston Acoustic $ 149 Recept, Speaker Cambridge SoundWorks' $ 200 Radio 730, or the $ 200 Tivoli Model Three), or the best "desktop" iPod SoundDock for $ 300 (Bose), however, these systems cost significantly more than the iH5. In the range of $ 100, the only true "dock / speaker" competitor is Logic 3's i-Station, i-Station has the advantage of being portable and what lets you sync your iPod with your computer, but the iH5 sounds a little better and gives you the additional features of a radio and alarm clock. (also connected the output iH5 line takes the line-in jack on the Klipsch iFi, the best sound for home iPod dock speaker syste
