Connecting Hi-Fi speakers to a computer?

My Hi-Fi system broke, so now I'm stuck with a pair of large speakers to use with. Each has only a red and black cable from the back, I'd like to connect to a headphone jack somehow. Is there any way to do this without having to buy an expensive amp?
