desktop speakers do not work ... but my usb speakers do in my pc?

I tested my speakers on another computer desktop .. and work ... However, when they connect to my desktop ... I get no sound ... and in device manager I can not check or uncheck the box audio ... or move the scroll bar .... Before you say you need the sound drivers ... you should know .... MY USB speakers (laptop speakers) WORK .... any suggestions? Is it necessary a sound driver if my usb speakers work?

Go to the "sound" category in the Control Panel to verify that the USB speakers are not set as the default device. You may also want to check software sound card (if any) to do the same .... the rear panel "poll cat may have been disabled. regards, Philip T
